PHILADELPHIA – Breaking into the University of Pennsylvania baseball lineup, and making his first collegiate start over the spring break trip in Virginia, freshman Jakob Levison earned Ivy League Rookie of the Week honors this past week.
Levison went 4-for-12 (.333) in three games this past week, one at Old Dominion and two at VCU. All singles, the outfielder also was hit by a pitch and scored two runs in the three contests.
Defensively, Levison recorded four putouts for the Quakers in left field, and added an outfield assist in game two at VCU this past Wednesday.
The Penn baseball team returns to action in its home opener at Meiklejohn Stadium, when the Quakers face Villanova at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
