WORCESTER, Mass. - The Penn lightweight rowing team competed in the Eastern Sprints Sunday, with three crews taking on EARC competition.
The varsity 8 finished second in the Petite Final to place eighth overall. The Quakers crossed the line in 6:41.080, just over two seconds ahead of Rutgers but behind first-place Princeton.
The second varsity 8 took third in their Petite Final to place ninth overall in a time of 6:32.667.Penn edged Columbia by just a quarter of a second for third place, and was less than two seconds back of second-place Georgetown.
In freshman varsity 8 action, the Quakers finished fourth in the Petite Final, 10th overall, in a time of 6:53.475.
