Lightweight Crew Finishes Third at Dodge Cup

MERCER LAKE, N.J.- The Penn lightweight crew varsity 8 couldn't overcome Yale and Columbia Saturday, finishing third in all three races it competed in at the Dodge Cup.

The Quaker varsity 8 (5:59.32)finished third behind Yale (5:51.0) and Columbia (5:53.5). The second varsity 8 took third out of four crews in a tight four-way battle, crossing the line in 6:14.5, six seconds off of the Yale 2V pace and two seconds behind Yale's 3V boat.

In the freshmen 8, Penn (6:20.60) finished well behind the Bulldogs (6:02.0) and the Lions (6:05.48).

Penn will continue its season April 22 with the Wood-Hammond Trophy race at Princeton.
