PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The University of Pennsylvania lightweights will race in their final regatta of the fall season this Sunday, Oct. 30 when they make the short trek to Lake Carnegie for the Princeton Chase. Hosted by Princeton University and the Carnegie Lake Rowing Association, the Chase will feature a field of all collegiate teams.
The Red and Blue will have a total of nine boats in action at the event, including four in the varsity lightweight 8+ and lightweight 4+ and one in the freshman lightweight 8+.
Last weekend at the Head of the Charles, the Quakers 8+ finished fifth and ninth in the field while the two 4+ boats came in 10th and 11th, respectively. The Red and Blue opened the fall season at the Navy Day regatta with 11 boats competing in the annual fall event and swept the men’s open 2- and placed first and second in the 8+.
Sunday’s Chase marks the conclusion of the fall racing season for the Quakers. They’ll return to action on April 1 when they host MIT on the Schuylkill River.
