Lightweights to Compete at Head of the Charles Sunday

PHILADELPHIA - After a successful opening weekend at the Navy Day Regatta, the University of Pennsylvania lightweights will send four crews to the prestigious Head of the Charles Regatta on Sunday, Oct. 23 in Boston, Mass.

Penn is set to compete at 1:48 p.m. in the fours and at 2:20 p.m. in the 8+ race. You can watch a live webcast here.

Last year at the 51st edition of the Head of the Charles, the Quakers had two top-ten showings when they finished seventh in the varsity 8 race and sixth in the fours.

Last week, the Quakers competed in the Navy Day Regatta the Red and Blue earned four wins with 11 boats in action. The Red and Blue were atop the podium in the open 2-, open/collegiate lightweight 4+, frosh/novice 8+, collegiate JV 8+ and the open/collegiate lightweight 8+ races.
