Lightweights to Finish Fall Competition This Weekend

Head of the Schuylkill Home

Princeton Chase Home

PHILADELPHIA – It's the final weekend of fall competition for the University of Pennsylvania men's lightweight rowing team as they get set to participate in both the Head of the Schuylkill on Saturday and the Princeton Chase on Sunday.

On Saturday, the Quakers will race on their home course on the Schuylkill River, starting with the men's novice fours at 9:20 a.m. The novice eights begin later that morning with two boats racing for the Quakers at 11:40 a.m.

The first Varsity Lightweight race on Sunday is scheduled to begin at 10:30 in the morning. The three-mile event takes place on Princeton's home course on Lake Carnegie.

Tentative boatings for both events this weekend are listed below.

Last Sunday at the Head of the Charles regatta, the men’s lightweight 8 team comprised of coxswain Jason Bernstein along with Mike Fisher, Nate Keane, Peter Ciullo, Paul Shay, Adam Neinstein, Brad Adams, David Mannion and Will Cooper placed 15th out of 21 teams with a time of 16:22:990.

Last week, the Quakers were 15th in their only race at the prestigious Head of the Charles. With one last fall race to go, the men’s lightweight rowing team hopes to end its fall season on a high note while looking forward to the spring.
