Philadelphia Sophomore quarterback Mike Loguidice and rookie return man Tomas Altamirano were named Collegiate Sprint Football League (CSFL) Offensive and Special Teams Player of the Week , respectively. The award was the second for Loguidice this season and the first for Altamirano.
Loguidice had one of his finest performances of his Quaker career in the season finale against Princeton in which Penn won, 61-28, on Nov. 5. The signal caller completed 13-of-14 passes for 273 yards. Loguidice also threw three touchdown passes with one going for 69 yards and rushed for two touchdowns. He finished the season with 1,286 yards for the highest passing total in the CSFL and broke Penn’s single-season record.
Altamirano was strong on special teams against Princeton, giving the Red and Blue excellent field position throughout the evening. Altamirano returned a punt for 43 yards and two kickoffs for 35 yards.
Penn concluded the season with a 4-2 overall record and a 2-2 CSFL mark to finish in second place. The Quaker also brought home the William Wagner Trophy for the third-consecutive season. The award is given to the Ivy League team with the best record in the CSFL.
