Lundy Is Top-15 Female Finisher at NYC Marathon

NEW YORK CITY--Penn Athletics Hall of FamerChristine Lundy C'92 V'96 was the 11th female finisherin the New York City Marathon, Sunday. The former Quakers clocked a time of 2:43:21 and averaged a 6:14 mile. She was the 149th overall finisher.

Lundy was a three-time All-Americanat Penn and still holds several Top-10 marks in the Quaker record books,including the top time in the indoor 5,000.

Since leaving Penn, Lundy has continued to run competitively and competed in the 2004 Olympic Marathon Trials. She represented the U.S. last summer at the Pan Am Games in Brazil and has also qualified to compete in the 2008 Olympic Marathon Trials in Boston. The Trials race will be held April 20, the day before the 112th Boston Marathon.

Lundy was inducted into the Penn Athletics Hall of Fame in 2005.
