PHILADELPHIA - Junior Marcus Jones landed Offensive Player of the Week honors from the Collegiate Sprint Football League (CSFL) after a career game against Cornell Friday, hauling in six catches for 137 yards and a Hail Mary touchdown to end the first half. The award is the first of Jones' career.
Jones' total of 137 yards accounted for nearly half of quarterback Mike McCurdy's total of 280 yards through the air in Penn's double overtime comeback against Cornell. After falling behind 10-0 near the end of the first half, McCurdy found Jones on fourth down on a 47 yard Hail Mary to cut the lead to 10-6 going into the break. Jones also caught one pass on third down in the midst of the Quakers' miraculous 93-yard drive with less than two minutes left to tie the game in the fourth quarter.
Penn hits the road for its season finale Saturday at 12 p.m. at Post with a chance to clinch just its second-ever undefeated season and an outright CSFL Championship
