PHILADELPHIA -A second national publication has chosen senior defender Meg Markham as a preseason All-American as Lacrosse Magazine chose the reigning Ivy League Defender of the Year as one of 13 players among the best in the nation as the 2015 women's lacrosse season commences. Earlier in the preseason, Inside Lacrosse also selected Markham as a first-team preseason All-American.

Markham is the only Ivy League player among the 13 honored as preseason All-Americans and just one of two outside of perennial powerhouse conference ACC.

A first-team All-American by the IWLCA last season, Markham was a Tewarraton Award nominee last season and has twice been named first-team All-Region and All-Ivy.

The Quakers remain No. 13 in the media poll and No. 14 in the IWLCA Coaches Poll through the first week of the season. Penn takes the field for the first time in 2015 on February 21, heading to Delaware.
