Maugle Named Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week

PHILADELPHIA - Penn sophomore cornerback Tyson Maugle has been named Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week for his performance against Dartmouth this weekend, the League office has announced.

Maugle picked apart the Big Green offense, grabbing two interceptions - his second and third of the season - in the Quakers' 17-10 win.He also had a pass break-up in the end zone and posted four tackles, including a late stop inside the 10-yard line.

Maugle was also named to the Ivy League Honor Roll last week after a 13-tackle performance against Villanova. For the season, Maugle has 23 tackles, three interceptions, three pass break-ups, a fumble recovery and a caused fumble.

In addition, sophomore quarterback Robert Irvin was named to the Ivy League Honor Roll. Irvin threw for 227 yards and two touchdowns in the win over Dartmouth.

Penn returns to action this Saturday when it visits Bucknell for a 1 p.m. game.
