PHILADELPHIA - Penn senior Max Mauro has been invited to participate in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association's (USILA) North-South Senior All-Star Game, which will take place Friday as a prelude to the NCAA Men’s Lacrosse Championships weekend in Massachusetts. Mauro will play on the South squad in the Division I/II All-Star Game.
The 67th Annual USILA North/South Senior All-Star Games will take place at Harvard Stadium on Friday as part of a tripleheader. The Division III All-Star Game will be played at 2 p.m., followed by the Division I/II game at 4 p.m. Following the All-Star Games, Major League Lacrosse takes the field as the Boston Cannons meet the Rochester Rattlers at 7 p.m.
Friday’s games serve as the kickoff to championship weekend, as the NCAA Division I, II and III titles will be contested over Memorial Day Weekend at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Mass.
An honorable mention All-Ivy pick this season, Mauro was the anchor of a young defensive unit as the lone senior among sophomores. He started every game on close defense, recording 17 ground balls and five caused turnovers.
