McDermott Named to IWLCA Academic Honor Roll

PHILADELPHIA - Outgoing senior Lauren McDermott has earned one last career accolade by being named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Division I Academic Honor Roll.

The award is given to members of Division I varsity programs who have achieved a high level of success in the classroom.

McDermott, who started all four years on defense for the Quakers, was a Second Team All-Region and Second Team All-Ivy selection this season. A team co-captain, McDermott collected 22 ground balls, had 14 caused turnovers and eight draw controls. As one of two seniors anchoring the backline, she helped Penn hold opponents to 310 shots while having a +38 goal differential.

In May, McDermott earned her degree in sociology from the College of Arts and Sciences.
