PHILADELPHIA - The Ivy League has announced its weekly award winners in men's lacrosse, and for the second time in as many weeks University of Pennsylvania freshman midfielder Kevin McGeary has been named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week.
McGeary -- who also was named ECAC Division I South co-Rookie of the Week on Tuesday -- had three goals and an assist for four points in Penn's 10-9 win at Harvard on Saturday; that included a pair of unassisted tallies during a three-goal Quakers run that turned a 9-7 deficit into a 10-9 victory. His final goal was the game-winner.
McGeary is tied for third on the team in goals (13) and is fourth in points (16); in the last four games he has 10 points, while in the last three contests he has scored seven goals.
Penn completes Ivy League play this Saturday, hosting Dartmouth at noon in the first half of a doubleheader at Franklin Field. (The Penn women will host Yale at 3 p.m.)
