PHILADELPHIA - Sophomore Chris McNulty was named the Co-Ivy League Pitcher of the Week after starting two games in which the Quakers came out victorious last week, to keep them in second place in the Lou Gehrig Division.
McNulty was lights out this week in two starts, going 1-0 with a 1.12 ERA. The southpaw started and tossed one hitless inning with a strikeout in an eventual 12-4 win over Lehigh. On Saturday he went the distance in an 8-1 win over Princeton. McNulty kept the Tigers off balance, allowing just five hits, all singles, over seven innings and held righties to just 2-for-20 hitting on the day.
The sophomore leads the team with a 4-1 record and a team-low 4.50 ERA. He improved to 2-0 in his career against the Tigers and 6-3 overall.
The Quakers return to action on Friday when they host Columbia in a home-and-home four game series. The Lions hold a two game lead in the Lou Gehrig Division going into the four game set, with the division champion earning a chance to play for the Ivy League title.
