Men Gear up for ECAC Championship

FLUSHING, N.Y. - The Penn men's tennis team opens the ECAC Championships today against Boston College in Flushing, N.Y. The Quakers are the two-time defending ECACchampions and will be attemptingto gain a third straight automatic bid to the NCAA Indoor Championships in February.

"The guys are very focused and determined to do well this weekend," head coach Nik DeVore said. "There is a huge bullseye on our chests asthe two-time defending champions, but I think our guys are up to the task."

The Quakers enter this year's tournament seeded fifth. Their first match pits them against the 12-seed Boston College Eagles.

Penn will rely heavily on seniors Jason Pinsky,Brandon O'Garaand Jonathan Boym, as well asjunior Justin Fox,each of whom have had strong fall seasons thus far.

"Boston College will no doubt be up for this match," DeVore said. "We will have to keep our focus and take care of business."
