KENYON, Ohio - The Quakers dropped to second place after Friday's action in the Nike Invitational.
The Penn men's swimming team fell to second Saturday but is right on the heels of host Kenyon, 842-827.5 behind a pair of first place finishes from sophomore Brendan McHugh.
McHugh took first in the 100 yard breaststroke, beating the competition by more than a second with his time of 56.34. He also finished ahead of the pack in the 400 yard IM, swimming the event in 3:57.45, nearly three seconds faster than the second place finisher.
In the first event of the afternoon, the Quakers 'A' relay team took second in the 200 yard free relay. The quartet of Brett Gomes, Chris Buck, Peter Amos and Kyle Loughran finished ina time of 1:22.41.
The men return to the pool tomorrow for another day of swimming.
