PHILADELPHIA The Penn men’s and women’s swimming and diving team is headed to Gambier, Ohio, to participate in the three-day Nike Invitational hosted by Kenyon College. The meet will pit the Quakers against teams from Colgate, Kenyon, Carnegie Mellon, Davidson, John Hopkins and Kansas (women).
The past two years, the top spot for the men has been traded between the host Lords and Penn with Kenyon taking first place last year. The Quakers are looking to upset the 29-consecutive Division III national champions and reclaim first. Last year, James Fee received the Swimmer of the Meet award, while breaking a Kenyon pool record in the 500 freestyle. Kyle Yeager also earned a pool record in the 200 IM.
On the women’s side, Penn took home a fourth-place finish in last season’s meet. Sara Coenen broke a pool record in the 200 back.
