Men's And Women's Swimming Compete in Final Day of ECAC's

Results

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The University of Pennsylvania men's and women’s swimming and diving teams competed in the final day of the ECAC Championships on Sunday. The men finished in 12th place with 95 points and the women took eighth place with 249 points.

Erica Stutius and Lauren Talman were Penn’s only swimmers in the 1650-yard freestyle. Stutius (17:46.73) placed sixth and Talman (17:50.60) was eighth. In the 200-yard backstroke, Andre DeLeon finished 11th at 2:11.90.

Sydney Sher (2:30.56) and Amy Wolf (2:31.24) placed 12th and 13th respectively in the 200-yard breaststroke. Freshman Sara Aiello was the Quakers lone competitor in the 200-yard butterfly. She finished in eighth place clocking at 2:11.33.

The final event the women swam in was the 400-yard freestyle relay. DeLeon, Cohen, Francie Free and Aiello placed sixth at 3:38.05.

The men only competed in two events on Sunday. Tim Howett (47.61) finished 13th in the 100-yard freestyle. The Red and Blue’s 400-yard freestyle relay team placed ninth. Robert Casey, T.J. Hutter, Steve Martucci and Howett came in at 3:10.44.

Marist College won the women’s competition with 535.5 points and Johns Hopkins won the women’s with 541 points.
