Men's Basketball Announces Class of 2016

PHILADELPHIA - The University of Pennsylvania's John R. Rockwell Head Coach of Men's Basketball, Jerome Allen, has announced his Class of 2016. Four men will join the Penn men's basketball roster as freshmen for the 2012-13 season.

"I am extremely excited about this group of young men," said Coach Allen, who enters his third full season as head coach. "In fact, I am extremely excited for this program in its entirety. I think these young men will be a great asset to our program and to the University as a whole. They have committed to something that is bigger than them, bigger than this class. I am looking forward to helping guide them during these next four years, on the basketball court and in their lives."

Penn finished the 2011-12 season with a 20-13 record. This year's team returns two starters (junior Miles Cartwright, sophomore Henry Brooks) and seven other letterwinners from that squad. Preseason practices will begin in October, with the regular season starting in early November.
