Men's Basketball to Host Carleton in Exhibition

PHILADELPHIA -Penn men's basketball fans will have an opportunity to see the Quakers in action prior to the start of the 2011-12 season, as the team hosts CarletonUniversity in an open exhibition on Saturday, Nov. 5.

The preseason exhibition will tip off at 4:30 p.m. in The Palestra, following the Penn-Princeton football game that kicks off at 1 p.m. on Franklin Field. There will befree admission to the contest, and seating will be general admission.

Based in Canada, Carleton is a member of the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) conference and last year won the Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) championship for the seventh time in nine years. During the months of August and September, Carleton went 5-4 in the Cross-Border Battle, including wins over Saint Louis, Niagara and UC-Santa Barbara as well as a two-point loss to La Salle.

Penn's regular season opener will take place Friday, Nov. 11 at UMBC. The Quakers' home opener will be Monday, Nov. 14 against Temple.
