Men's Basketball to Meet Army in Meadowlands Doubleheader

PHILADELPHIA - The Penn men's basketball program has made its first announcement regarding the 2010-11 schedule. The Quakers will take on Army at the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, N.J. on Saturday, Dec. 4 at noon.

The Penn-Army game is the first of a doubleheader; the second game will be a rematch of last year's NCAA championship contest, between Duke and Butler, and will take place at 3:30 p.m.

Tickets are on sale now through the IZOD Center box office for $78.50 which includes both games. Parking for the event will be $20. This will mark Penn's third appearance at the IZOD Center, formerly known as the Meadowlands. The Quakers played Seton Hall there twice, the first time on Dec. 13, 2000 and most recently on Dec. 23, 2006.

Penn and Army have met 32 times on the hardwood, with the Quakers owning a 20-12 advantage. The series dates back more than 100 years, with 31 of the 32 meetings taking place between 1907 and 1959. The last time the Quakers played the Black Knights was Dec. 3, 1999 in Philadelphia, a 71-56 Penn victory.
