BETHLEHEM, Pa.--The Penn men's cross country team finished 12th in a difficult field at the Paul Short Invitational. Sophomore Chris Baird led the Quakers with a time of 24:31 on the 8K course in Bethlehem, Pa.
Following Baird in the “Brown” race was Luke Grau and Brian Trembley, both in under the 25-minute mark at 24:51 and 24:58, respectively.
Kevin Sullivan and Sean McGinley were not far behind finished at 25:11 and 25:14. Rounding out the finishers for Penn, Philip Cawkwell crossed the finish line at 25:47 and Robert Dugger came in at 26:49.
In the JV race, John Cassidy clocked an even 26 minutes while freshmen Austin Santillo and Even Heflin were just moments behind at 26:05 and 26:07. Also competing in the race were Clayton Smith (26:11), Joseph Myrie (27:18), Bryan Scotland (27:34), Michael Cunningham (27:37), Isaac Ortiz (27:47), Michael Vido (27:56), Jeffrey Weinstein (28:51) and James Finucane (28:59).
The Quakers’ next race is the Pre-National meet in Terre Haute, Ind. on Oct. 18.
