PHILADELPHIA - The Quakers open their 2010 cross country campaign with a race at the Fordham Fiasco Saturday morning.
Penn returns four of its top five runners from a season ago, including seniors Christopher Baird and Luke Grau. Baird was the Red and Blue's top finisher at last year's Heptagonals and also earned all-region honors after taking 18th in the event. Grau seeks to regain his 2008 form, when he was the Quakers' top finisher at Heps.
Seniors Robert Dugger, Kevin Sullivan, and junior Evan Heflin were among the top four finishers at both Heps and the Mid-Atlantic Regionals in 2009 and should provide depth to the squad.
Last year at the Fordham Fiasco, Dugger led the Quaker contingent with his eighth place finish as the team took fifth overall. Sophomore Mike Kiley took 13th, while senior Michael Cunningham placed 24th.
