Final Men's Results (pdf)

Easton, Pa. -
The men's cross country team continued its progress at Lafayette's Leopard Invitational, besting 11 other teams on its way to a second place finish with 55 points. Only American (27 points) was able to outrun the Quakers on the day.

A strong freshman class has keyed Penn's turnaround this year and Saturday was no different. New faces Brendan Smith (seventh, 25:22.05) and Brandon Clark (eighth, 25:36.48) were the top two finishers for Penn, giving the Red and Blue a solid foundation for its success in the race. They were followed closely by senior captain Kevin Foy, who came in 10th with a time of 25:42.36 in the 8K race.

Seniors Mike Kiley (25:51.16) and John Foye (25:56.79) finished 14th and 16th, respectively, to close out the scoring for the Quakers. Penn's non-scorers also performed well, with freshman Thomas Awad finishing 18th in a time of 26:03.83 and sophomore John Trueman crossing the line in 21st with a time of 26:12.26.

The Red and Blue are next in action in two weeks at the Ivy League Heptagonals race. Action from Princeton's West Windsor Fields will get going at 11 a.m. on October 27.
