Men's Cross Country Places Sixth at NCAA Regional

University City, Pa. - The Quakers ran to their best finish in five years on Saturday at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional, taking sixth in a field of 28 teams.

Senior Christopher Baird earned All-Region honors for the second consecutive year, running the 10k course in 30:15, good enough for 20th overeall. Freshman Conner Paez turned in his best performance of the season, finishing 38th overall in 31:23.

Seniors Luke Grau and Philip Cawkwell finished within a second of each other, placing 43rd and 44th respectively in a time 31:35. Sophomore Kevin Foy was the fifth Penn runner to cross, taking 54th with a time of 31:46. Juniors James Finucane (32:50) and Michael Cunningham (33:13) rounded out the Quaker contingent.

The sixth place finish was the highest for the Red and Blue since the team came in fifth at the Mid-Atlantic Regional in 2005.
