BRONX, N.Y.--The Penn men's cross country team beat out 21 teams to take first place at the Fordham Invite at Van Cortlandt Park in New York, N.Y., Saturday. The Quakers scored 42 points improving on last season's 46-point, second-place performance at the meet.
The Quakers were paced by three men who finished in the top four. Reid McEwen finsihed second overall with a time of 26:16, only 13 second behind the winner. Penn also took third and fourth places behind strong performances from Larry Contrella (26:24) and Anguel Tolev (26:26).
The Quakers compete next on September 15 when they travel to the University of Delaware.
