New York City Five members of the University of Pennsylvania men’s cross country team finished in the top-15 to lead the Quakers to a third-place finish at the Fordham Invitational at Van Courtland Park.
Sophomore John Brackman was the eighth runner to cross the finish line with a time of 26:12.03. Junior Breton Bonnnette took the 11th spot, while senior Matt Van Anterp, freshman Brian Goldberg and sophomore Ian Foley finished 12th, 13th and 14th , respectively. The trio of freshman Reid McEwen, senior Zach Blodgett and freshman Mike Lovejoy rounded out the scoring in 21st, 22nd and 23rd, respectively.
Providence College dominated the competition taking the top-five spots for a total of 15 points. Quinnipiac grabbed second with 51 points and Penn took third with 61 points.
The Red and Blue return to action next weekend, Sept. 18 at the Delaware Invitational. The Quakers dominated at the Delaware Invitational last season, taking home first place.
