Men's Fencers Succeed on the National Level

PHILADELPHIA - The Quakers had two fencers compete at the North American Cup and one more fence well in the Junior World Cup over the weekend.

Freshman Michael Mills, fencing for the second consecutive weekend, took his skills to the North American Cup in Milwaukee. The saberist fenced his way to a gold medal, while classmate Elliot Tusk took 45th after falling to Mills midway through the competition.

One week after his second place finish at the Penn State Open, Prochniak traveled to the Junior World Cup in Sosnowiec, Poland to compete in saber. The second-year placed fifth overall, the highest finish of anyone on the U.S. men's junior saber squad.

The Quakers return to action January 22, when Penn hosts the Philadelphia Invitational.
