Men's Fencing Defeats Yale, 17-10

New Haven, Conn. -- The University of Pennsylvania men's fencing team defeated Yale on Saturday, 17-10, in the Payne Whitney Gym. The Quakers won the saber 5-4, the epee 6-3 and the foil 6-3.

In the sabre, Zack Yeates had a 2-1 record on the weapon for the day. Jon Gale went 3-0 in the epee in the meet and Jon Gale was 2-1 on the weapon. All three members of the foil team recorded two victories in the weapon with Michael Galligan, Ron Berkowsky and Steve Gavalas winning twice in the weapon.

The Quakers are next in action on Sunday, Jan. 30 when they host Rutgers and Johns Hopkins in Weightman Gym at 1 p.m.
