Men's Fencing Gets Two Top-Five Finishes at Temple Open

PHILADELPHIA - The Quakers sent three men's fencers to the Temple Open and came back with a pair of top-five finishes against some of the nation's top fencers on Sunday afternoon.

Fencing in his first bouts for the Red and Blue, freshman Joseph Isaac went 11-1 in the preliminaries and reached the final four in epee where he took third place. Fellow classmate and epeeist Clifford Fishler also participated, finishing in 20th after an 8-0 mark in preliminary action.

The elder statesmen of the three, sophomore Sinatrio Raharjo opened preliminaries with an 8-0 record, before concluding his day in fifth.

The men return to action this weekend when they travel to College Park for the Penn State Open.
