PHILADELPHIA – On Sunday, the Ivy League’s fencing squads will gather in Providence, R.I. for the second day of Ivy League Round Robin’s. The men’s competition features five teams all looking up at one – the Penn Quakers.
Penn’s men’s side enters the weekend with a perfect 15-0 record in dual meets and a 3-0 record in Ivy competition. Two wins on Sunday will give Penn its first men’s title since 2003 and will cap an unbeaten regular season.
The Quakers, ranked fourth in the country in the latest USFCA Coaches’ Poll, will fence Harvard at 1 p.m. and Yale at approximately 2:45 p.m. Harvard is 8-8 overall and 0-3 in the Ivies. The Crimson currently sits No. 9 in the USFCA polls. Yale is 7-5 with a 1-2 mark in Ivy fencing.
The women are also in action on Sunday with three duals against Cornell, Harvard and Yale. The ladies are 12-4 as a team and 1-2 in the Ivy League. Harvard is 4-0 so far in Ivy matches and is in the driver’s seat to the Ivy crown.
