PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania men’s golf team continues its busy fall season with arguably its toughest test this weekend. The Quakers are in Baton Rouge, La., for the David Toms Intercollegiate being hosted by powerhouse LSU.

A total of 14 teams are teeing it up this weekend at the par-72 University Club; they will play 36 holes on Saturday, and a final 18 on Sunday, with 8:30 a.m. shotgun starts both days. Penn is the only Ivy League team in the field.

Penn’s lineup this weekend includes senior Patrick O'Leary; juniors Dane Walton and Matt Kern; sophomore Carter Thompson; and freshman Josh Goldenberg.

“I am hopeful that the change of scenery and the excitement of this trip to LSU will help the team turn things around as we near the finish of our fall campaign,” said head coach Bob Heintz. “We could some strong rounds of golf here to build on when we wrap up the season at Merion at the end of the month.”
