Men's Golf Closes Fall Season in Rhode Island

PHILADELPHIA -The Penn men's golf team will conclude the fall portion of its season this weekend, competing in the second annual The Classic at Shelter Harbor. The 15-team tournament is being hosted by the University of Rhode Island and will consist of single rounds of play both Saturday and Sunday.

The Shelter Harbor Golf Club is a par-71, 7,006-yard course located in Westerly and Charlestown, R.I.

In addition to the Quakers and the host Rams, the 2011 field features Boston College, Brown, Bryant, Columbia, Central Connecticut, Connecticut, Cornell, Dartmouth, Fordham, Hartford, Holy Cross, Princeton and Yale.

Penn's lineup will feature juniors Colin St. Maxens and P.J. Fielding, sophomore Max Marsico, and freshmen Austin Powell and Ben Cooley. The Quakers' third freshman, Tomas Agrest, will compete in the event as an individual.

"We are hoping to keep up the momentum from our Big Five city championship and close out the season on a high note," said Head Coach Scott Allen. "We are bringing a young squad up to Rhode Island with Scotty Williams missing the week for an interview. It's exciting to have Austin back in the lineup after he missed the last two weeks with a wrist injury."
