SPRINGFIELD, N.J. – The University of Pennsylvania men’s golf team shot 310 as a team on Saturday and is in eighth place after two days at the Ivy League Championships. The 54-hole tournament has completed two rounds on the famed lower course at Baltusrol, which is playing to par-70 this weekend.
Columbia is in first place after shooting 276 as a team on Saturday; the Lions are at 578 and 11 strokes ahead of second-place Yale (289 on Saturday, 589 for the tourney). Penn is at 612 through the two rounds, four shots behind Princeton, five behind Dartmouth, and six behind Brown.
Ben Cooley continues to lead the Quakers; his 74 on Saturday was the team’s low score and puts him at 147 for the tourney which is tied for ninth in the 40-player field. Dane Walton (75 on Saturday) is tied for 15th overall, at 150, while Patrick O’Leary (79) is tied for 26th at 154. Austin Powell and Tomas Agrest both carded 82 on Saturday; they are 38th and tied for 39th, respectively, with two-round scores of 161 and 165.
The teams will tee off for Sunday’s final round beginning at 8 a.m. For Penn, Agrest will tee off at 8:00; Powell will tee off at 8:08; O'Leary will tee off at 8:16; Walton will tee off at 8:24; and Cooley will tee off at 8:32. The Quakers will be playing with Princeton on Sunday.
