Ithaca, N.Y. - The Penn men's golf team shot a three-round 886 to finish in second place at the Cornell Invitational on October 26. Penn's best round was its second, as the Red and Blue combined for a 293. The Quakers were just seven strokes behind the leader, Rider, which shot an 879.
Freshman Dean Merrill was the top finisher for Penn when he placed tied for fourth with a two-over 218 (71-72-75). Patrick Cooper tied for 10th place with a 221 (73-73-75), while Garrett Wentzell tied for 15th with a 223 (76-74-73).
The Quakers are back in action on Oct. 1-2 at the Temple Invitational in Moosic, Pa.
