Men's Golf Finishes Seventh at Notre Dame Spring Invitational

SOUTH BEND, Ind.—The Penn men’s golf team shot a total of 601 over two rounds to finish seventh in the Notre Dame Spring Invitational.

Northwestern shot a 568 to take first in the nine-team tournament, which took place at the par 70, 6,930-yard Warren Golf Course on the Notre Dame campus.

Michael Blodgett recorded the best finish for the Quakers, carding a 71 in Round 1 and a 73 in Round 2 to finish with a 144 and tie for 12th place overall.

Dean Merrill shot Penn’s second-best performance of the day with a total of 152 over the two rounds (78, 74). Merrill tied for 39th place.

Bill McCrossan finished with a total of 153 after shooting a 77 in Round 1 and a 76 in the second round for 45th place.

Michael Kornheiser was just behind McCrossan, finishing in a tie for 46th place with a total of 154. Kornheiser shot a 79 and a 75.

Brett Rendina also competed for the Quakers. Rendina tied for 51st place after shooting a 77 and an 80 for a total of 157.

The squad will next be in action in the Princeton Invitational April 11th-12th at Princeton, N.J.
