OWINGS MILLS, Md. - The University of Pennsylvania men's golf team finished up play at the Ivy League Championships on Sunday, taking third place at Caves Valley Golf Club as senior P.J. Fielding and junior Max Marsico tied for second individually and earned first-team All-Ivy.
Fielding shot a 69 on Sunday -- tied for the low round of the day --while Marsico carded a 74. That left the two of them at 216 for the 54-hole tournament and left them three strokes behind Princeton's Greg Jarmas, whose third-round 70 allowed him to take medalist honors.Princeton's Quinn Prchal and Dartmouth's James Pleat tied for fourth, at 218.
Penn shot 295 as a team on Sunday, the second-best roundamong the eight teams,and finished the event at 889. That was one stroke behind second-place Yale, which shot 296 on Sunday to finish at 888. Princeton took the team title, shooting 288 on Sunday toend the tournament at 883 andstorming from fourth place at the start of the day to the championship.
Columbia (299 on Sunday) was fourth, at 893, while Dartmouth (300) was fifth at 896.
For Penn, Colin St. Maxens carded a 74 on Sunday to end his tournament at 230 and tie for 23rd. Ben Cooley shot a 78 and ended the tournament in 30th place at 233. Austin Powell was forced to withdraw due to an injury midway through Sunday's round.
