Bethany Beach, DEThe Penn men’s golf team tied with Navy to finish third in the George Washington Invitational with a total of 749 on the weekend.
The two-day, 45-hole tournament took place at the Bear Trap Dunes Golf Club on the par 72, 6,834-yard course.
Michael Blodgett recorded the Quakers’ lowest total of the weekend, carding a 184 to finish sixth overall, just four strokes off the lead.
Kevin Huntington tied for seventh for Penn with a 187, while Brett Rendina tied for 18th with a 190.
Michael Kornheiser tied for 29th (192), and Dean Merrill tied for 36th (193).
Maryland’s Chris Gold took top honors with a 180, leading the Terrapins to first place overall.
The team is next in action April 5th at the Notre Dame Spring Invitational in South Bend, Ind.
