PHILADELPHIA - The University of Pennsylvania men's golf team concluded the fall portion of its 2014-15 season by winning the five-team CitySix Shootout, a one-round event that took place Saturday at the Philadelphia Cricket Club's Militia Hill course.
The Quakers shot 290 in the event, in which each team had a six-player lineup with the low four scores counting. That was two shots better than second-place Drexel (292) and four ahead of third-place Saint Joseph's (294). La Salle (302) was fourth, while Villanova (310) was fifth.
Individually, sophomore Dane Walton was Penn's low scorer as he tied for second place overall with a 1-under-par 71. Walton tied with T.J. McNulty from Saint Joseph's, both of them finishing two shots behind the individual champion, Drexel's Chris Crawford.
Three Penn players shot 1-over-par 73 and tied for fifth in the field: seniors Austin Powell and Ben Cooley, and freshman Amay Poria. Senior Tomas Agrest (75) tied for 13th overall, while junior Patrick O'Leary (78) finished 19th overall. A total of 30 golfers competed.
