PHILADELPHIA--The Penn men's heavyweight rowing team finished third in the Childs Cup, Saturday, behing Princeton and Columbia.
The Varsity 8 clocked a time of 6:06.9 in the crew's first race on the Schuylkill River this spring. The Freshman 8 also finished third with a time of 6:33.1 The 2nd Freshman team rowed a duel race with Princeton and finished second at 6:35.7.
The Tigers and Lions also competed in a duel race with the 2nd Varsity 8s. Princeton was again victorious completing the sweep to complement its 15th consecutive Childs Cup win.
The Quakers will be back on the waterin New Haven, Conn. for the Blackwell Cup against Yale and Columbia, April 19.
