Men's Heavyweight Rowing Races Twice, Freshmen 4 Take First

PRINCETON, N.J.--The Penn men's heavyweight rowing team closed out the fall season withthree events at the Princeton Chase Sunday while two freshmen crews competed in the Head of the Schuylkill Saturday. The Freshman 4 clocked a time of 15:05.51 to take first place at the Head of the Schuylkill, beating out seven other crews.

At the Princeton Chase, the Varsity 8 race featured two Penn boats that finished 11th and 23rd in the 40-boat field. Penn A finished at 13:53.413 while Penn B came in at 14:08.953. The Varsity 4 clocked a time of 16:56.377. The Freshman 8 finished fourth with a time of 14:29.809. Yale crews took the top spot in all three races Sunday.

Saturday, on the Schuylkill River, the Penn freshmen raced and eight boat as well as the four-man crew that took top honors. The eight took 13th in the 30-team field with a time of 15:07.69.
