Men's Heavyweight Rowing Travels to West Coast for IRAs

PHILADELPHIA--The Penn men's heavyweight rowing team qualified two boats to the IRA National Championship Regatta in Sacramento, Calif. this weekend. Collegiate rowing crews from across the country will be heading to Lake Natomathe 107th Intercollegiate Rowing Association National Championships.

Penn's Varsity 8 will take lane one in the fourth heat scheduled for 8:45 a.m. local (11:45 a.m. Eastern). They will contend with Columbia, Stanford, Boston University and MIT in their heat. There are 22 entries in the field.

In the 2nd Varsity 8 race, Penn will be in lane five of the first heat and race Syracuse, California and Wisconsin. The race is scheduled for 9 a.m. Pacific (noon Eastern). There will be four heats with 18 boats entered.
