Men's Lightweight Competes at EARC Sprints


WORCESTER, Mass.--The Penn men's lightweight crews competed at the EARC Sprints Sunday. The Quakers raced three boats at the event.

In the varsity eight, Penn took fifth in its heat with a time of 6:20.169 and followed it up with a 6:41.982 and third place in the PetiteFinal. Cornell won the Grand Final race with a time of 6:17.735.

The second varsity race saw Penn clock a time of 6:40.216 and fifth place in the heat. The Quakers went on the finish fourth in the Petite Final (6:45.537) while Navy won the Grand Final with a time of 6:09.319.

Penn's freshman eight crew clocked a time of 6:15.346in the heat and then rowed to a 6:21.961 finish and third place in thePetite Final. Yale won the Grand Final, pacing the field with a time of 6:09.684.

The Red and Blue's next and final race of the seasonwill be at the IRA Regatta, June 5-7 in Camden, N.J.
