Men's Lightweight Rowing Comes in Third in Dodge Cup

PHILADELPHIA – In their second of three consecutive home races, the University of Pennsylvania men’s lightweight rowing team finished third to Yale and Columbia in the varsity 8 Saturday on the Schuylkill River. The Bulldogs won all five races on the day.

In the varsity 8, Penn clocked at 5:59.4., nine seconds off the pace of first-place Yale who came in at 5:50.6. Columbia came in at 5:52.1. The Quakers came in second to Yale in the second freshmen 8 (6:22.8) and the second varsity 8 (6:21.8).

Penn also competed in the first freshman 8, where they finished third at 6:00.8. Yale took the race, clocking at 5:50.0.

The Quakers remain home for their final home race of the spring next Saturday. They host Princeton in the Wood-Hammond Trophy at 9 a.m.
