Men's Lightweight Rowing Gears Up for EARC Sprints

PHILADELPHIA - After last week’s race with Navy was postponed, the University of Pennsylvania men’s lightweight rowing team will be itching to get back on the water Sunday at the EARC Sprints on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Mass.

The History

Last season the varsity 8 finished second in the Petite Final and eighth overall at 6:41.080. Cornell won the Grand Final, edging Navy by three seconds at 5:53.201.

Penn’s last top-five finish came in 1993, when they finished fifth at 5:49.5. In 1992, they finished second, which was the Quakers’ best finish since they won sprints in 1976.

Last Time Out

The Callow Cup versus Navy was postponed last Sunday due to heavy winds. A makeup date has yet to be announced.
