Men's Lightweight Rowing Heads to Princeton

PHILADELPHIA - The Penn men's lightweight rowing team will take to the road one final time on Saturday as they head to Princeton to take on the longtime-rival Tigers in a race for the Wood-Hammond Trophy. The race, which is set to begin at 11:15 a.m., will be the final regular season contest outside of the friendly waters of the Schuylkill River.

The History

Princeton holds the all-time cup lead, 51-11. The Quakers' last victory came in 1978. Last season, the two teams raced along with Georgetown at Penn. The Tigers finished nearly six seconds ahead of Penn in the First VarsityEight race.

Last Year ...

In a race held at Penn, the Quakers were unable to top the Tigers in any of the battles last season. The two teams raced along with the Georgetown Hoyas, who fell to the Quakers in the Second FreshmanFour contest. In the First VarsityEight race, Princeton clocked in at 5:37.4 while Penn finished in 5:43.0.
