Men's Lightweight Rowing Hosts Rival Princeton on Saturday

PHILADELPHIA - The University of Pennsylvania men’s lightweight rowing team closes out its three-race homestand by facing Princeton in the Wood-Hammond Trophy on Saturday morning. Georgetown will also race, but will not compete for the trophy.

The History

Princeton holds the all-time cup lead, 50-11. Penn’s last victory came in 1978. Last season, the Tigers finished ahead of Penn by six seconds, at 6:09.7.

Last Time Out

In the Dodge Cup, the varsity 8 came in third behind Yale (5:50.6) and Columbia (5:52.1). Penn came in at 5:59.4. The Quakers came in third in the first freshman 8, while finishing second to Yale in the second freshman 8 and second varsity 8.
