PRINCETON, N.J. – Despite conditions not ideal for racing, the abbreviated show still went on this weekend for the University of Pennsylvania men’s rowing teams. Saturday’s Head of the Schuylkill was cancelled due to debris in the water from Friday’s rain and high winds. Sunday at the Princeton Chase was limited to only the lightweight and heavyweight eight because of headwind and choppy waters. All small boats and fours races were cancelled.

The lightweight eight raced two boats – with their best finish coming at sixth place (14:48.41) out of 50 boats. Penn’s other crew came in 17th clocking in at 15:14.40.

The heavyweight eight also raced two boats. The Quakers finished 14th (15:05.45) and 26th (15:32.48) out of 37 boats.

Penn will take this weekend off and return to action Nov. 12 at the Belly of the Carnegie in Princeton, N.J.
