Men's Rowing Represented at Olympics

PHILADELPHIA--Current men's lightweight rowing head coach Mike Irwin along with former Penn coach Ted Nash and rowing alum Tom Paradiso, C'02will represent Penn at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.

Nash will be participating in his 11th Olympic games. He will serve as coach for the men's pair, guidingHarvard grads Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss.

Competing on the water Paradiso is a 2002 graduate that will be making his first Olympic appearance but eighth national team appearance since making the team while still enrolled at Penn. He is slated for the men's lightweight four at stroke.

Irwin was selected to the support staff and will serve as the boatman for US Rowing.

Penn rowing has a proud tradition in the Olympics with 46 rowers or coaches making 72 appearances and winning nine medals since the 1936 Games in Berlin, Germany.
